Neuro-Linguistics Programming (NLP) is an approach that uses the mind-body-spirit connection to bring about desired changes in behaviors, beliefs and attitudes. It is a non-judgmental, solution-focused discipline that assumes every behavior/belief/attitude serves some positive purpose, even if it produces undesired outcomes for the individual.
During a few brief sessions, NLP helps individuals transform or eliminate undesirable outcomes in such a way that new and more useful behaviors/outcomes become automatic.
Listen to a brief on-line interview of Larry Wells as he talks about how he got interested in NLP, and why he continues to use it.

“NLP studies the patterns or ‘programming’ created by the interaction among the brain (neuro), language (linguistic), and the body that produce both effective and ineffective behavior."

Changing Belief Systems with NLP
NLP often involves helping individuals discover automatic internal responses to external events (triggers) which lead to unwanted behaviors. The practitioner then guides clients to access internal and external resources that are both necessary and sufficient to bring about a new and more desirable response to these triggers.
NLP has also been effectively used to address such issues as past trauma, allergies, hypertension and side effects from cancer treatments.
